I Don’t Care How Much Money I Save at Walmart - I Hate It!
I just got back from Walmart. I never shop there but hubby does ocassionally for certain things and today he asked me if I would go and get those certain things for him so he could work on the house. I am a loving wife and I obliged.
The place makes my skin crawl. From the layout to the feel of it. It’s chaotic and makes my brain hurt. I wanted to gouge my eyes out the moment I walked in and I swear it had nothing to do with both of my kids in the cart screaming for something or other.
I couldn’t have been happier the moment I walked out the door. And no, not because I saved a bundle of money, which I did, but because it was like stepping back into my own universe.
I’m not sure what it is about MallWart (what Drew has funnily named it) that makes me cringe, but whatever it is, I am going to listen to my brain screaming for me to run far far away next time. No amount of money saved is worth the experience that makes me want to shoot myself in the head. A girl has her limits.
Ohh, yes yes. I absolutely HATE going into Walmart. It makes me feel… dirty. And cheap. And I get very depressed when inside. I avoid it at all costs. It’s so irritating though - there’s one right behind my apartment complex, which makes it so convenient! I’ve gone in there three times and was itching to get out the whole time. Ugh.

I used to hate it… when they built a Super WalMart in my town. It was so big and I could hardly find my way around. I just wanted to go back to smaller stores.
But now that I’ve been going for a few years… I like it. I love it actually. I can’t imagine going back to the way things were.

I actually really dislike Walmart and everything it stands for and what makes me so mad is that I often end up there (at least once a month) because it is so much cheaper! I hate what WM has done to the little local shop so while I do admit that I’m a WM shopper at times, I also try to shop at our local town shops too…takes a little of the guilt away
I’m lucky that if I want to go to a similar type of store the closest one is Target. While Target has too much red, it’s a lot easier on the brain in my experience.
But I try to just avoid either. Makes me feel bad about all kind of things…*sigh*
I don’t care for Walmart either. I refuse to go on the weekend, it’s so crowded and noisy.
I have hated wal mart for years. When my wife and I moved to MO, she found employment there.
Made me sick everytime I went in there.
She left (walked out in anger) them and I haven’t been there since. Won’t ever go again. If they are the only place to find something I won’t ever have it.
I like reading/hearing about their down fall.

Preach it! I’ve found that Target prices are only a penny or so over Walmart’s–and Target runs sales. Worth the extra cost to keep my sanity.

I was at Walmart last night and have decided that was my last time. I have nothing against the store but almost every time I’m there I get very disoriented feeling like I’m high and I break out in a sweat. I feel like I might pass out. Also my husband says if I’m ever constipated he’s taking me to Walmart?? I’ve tried to figure out what it might be.If it’s all the different smells from the clothes or detergents……I don’t know but it’s happened too many times. Once I just left my cart of bargains in the isle and picked up my daughter and got out fast. Does this happen to anybody else?
Funny, I googled “walmart depressing” and came across this site. I agree with the original poster — walmart has a strange visceral reaction to me and I get very depressed when entering. Even worse for Sam’s club. I am not sure why — they have good deals and it is the same exact stuff you can get for more $$$ at the local drugstore or smaller shop. It’s not just that I’m being snotty or think I’m too good for it… it is just that *everything* there is designed to save money, and it shows.

I hate shopping at Wal-Mart, too. Too big, other shoppers run into you with their carts. Maybe it’s just me, but next time you go through the entrance turn around and watch the other shoppers coming in. They look like the zombies in that George Romero movie Dawn of the Dead.
