Being debt free? It’s so easy to laugh at that phase. But, it really IS possible, isn’t it? I’m not there. Yet. And, if I had reeled in my ways this year, I’d be much closer. It’s a process. Life change…takes time. And, it’s nice to know that there are others taking steps to be content with what they already have, too. We really do have too much, don’t we? Love your site.

Wise words.

We’re led to believe that happiness can be found in ’stuff’ because that’s what keeps the financial world of the Western economy ticking, but it’s such a lie. Happiness is within each of us but even though that’s something I knew, I still managed to get myself into debt because a certain event in my life left me feeling inadequate I stupidly fell for the lies. I’m gradually climbing out of it again and this time I really mean it when I say NEVER AGAIN!

Very nice post.
Why do we struggle to convince ourselves that we can be happy with just the things we have now? I heard once that “a luxury, once sampled, becomes a necessity.” I think that is true many times. We convince ourselves that we NEED certain items and that our lives will be better, but they rarely are.

Your life becomes “better” when you make the decision to be happy.

The statement that you made, “If only I knew then, what I know now”

This must be one of the most repeated phrases.

Let’s count our blessings, at least we know now. There are still a number of lost souls out there who still do not know and know not that they know not.
